Front: Black cover. Center is embossed in gold print that reads "Juneau High School / Class of 1941". "Elizabeth Sherwood" is printed in gold at bottom right corner. Inside: Top portion has a removable sheet of paper that lists the names of all the students of the 1941 class.he paper is held in place by a thick red ribbon that crosses horizontally from left to right. Bottom portion has a removable off white paper held in place along left and right sides by brown fabric. This paper has "Juneau High School" in old English black script across the top. Below that reads "Juneau, Alaska / This Certifies That / Elizabeth Sherwood / Has satisfactorily completed the Course of Study prescribed by the Board of / Education of the City of Juneau and the Territory of Alaska for the / High School Department, and is therefore entitled to this / Diploma (in larger font) / Given under our hands at Juneau, Alaska, this twenty-eighth day of May, / one thousand nine hundred and forty-one." Below there are five signatures in two columns. On the left is the Superintendent of Schools and the High School Principal. On the right is the President of Board of Education, Clerk of Board, and Treasurer of Board. All signatures are difficult to read. |
