Description |
Tear shaped gun powder flask. Main body steel alloy made in 2 parts soldered at overlapped edge. Upper part single piece of brass with opening at top soldered to body. Spring loaded lever attaches wooden stopper. Inscription on lever plate: "PAT. MAY, 5 1903" Iron body of flask could indicate not for use of black powder because of possible ignition by static electricity. Powder flasks were commonly of brass. |
