Description

Red mold-made hard cardboard soap box derby helmet with small bill, knob top, and radiating molded seams reminiscent of baseball cap. Four holes with metal grommets on each side. Colorful label decal on front features badge with "49 / SOAP BOX DERBY", eagle above, ribbon scrollwork to sides reading "TURRET TOP / BODY BY FISHER" & "CONTESTANT" in Chevrolet logo. Inside is stiff cardboard and fabric headband riveted to helmet by metal tension strips. Cotton twill chinstrap with piping edges and metal double back fastener.
